Google ads clicks not matching traffic on shopify

Hi all,

 

I have been running google ads well for my shopify store until recently I’ve noticed that while the google ads continue to run and receive clicks, the traffic recorded on Shopify had reduced significantly and therefore also affecting the sales. 

my google ads are both shopping and Pmax ads, I’ve checked that the landing pages are valid and active via google merchant centre, and all google tags are active on google ads. 

any help or advice would be much appreciated!

I'm just looking to confirm my understanding of what you're experiencing here before moving to next steps. To be clear, are you saying that the traffic data you're seeing via 3rd party reports (so Google and PMax, in your case) doesn't match with the analytics data shown within Shopify? Is your Shopify data trending lower than what the 3rd party reports are describing? Are you able to outline for us what specific analytic you're looking at in your Shopify analytics to inform you of this?

Yes that’s right the analytics on shopify show a reduced number of visitors/ sessions compared to the report from GAds (insights from PMax and total number of clicks).


The expected number of visitors from the UK where the shop is based is also much lower than international shoppers.

Hi, @MM288. We aren't able to troubleshoot third party analytics as we use a different model than Google Analytics. However, if you believe your Shopify analytics are not tracking correctly please reach out to our support team through the Help Center so we can take a closer look at this with you.
