Google Analytics Not Tracking Visitors on New Shopify Store

Hi everyone,

 

I've recently set up a new Shopify store and connected both Google and Google Analytics properly. However, I'm experiencing an issue where no data is being collected in Analytics. Even when I browse the store myself, the Google Analytics real-time report shows 0 visitors.


We're about to launch advertising campaigns for the store, but we need to resolve this tracking issue first so we can properly measure our marketing efforts.


What could be causing this problem? Has anyone experienced something similar and found a solution? I would greatly appreciate any troubleshooting tips or advice on how to fix this Google Analytics integration issue.

Hey That sounds super frustrating, especially right before launching ads.

Just a quick question to help narrow it down: are you using GA4 or the older Universal Analytics? And did you connect it through Shopify’s built-in Google channel, or did you add the tag manually?

Sometimes it’s just one tiny setting that holds everything back. Let me know how you set it up. I might be able to help spot what’s going wrong.

I'm using the GA4. This is a new store and I created a brand new Google Analytics account. I don't believe it's possible to create universal analytics accounts anymore.
