Google Analytics Referral data only showing Revenue against third party payments domain

Hello,

Under the referral stats from google analytics for my Shopify account I only see Revenue attributed to the domain of my third party payments provider.

I have looked at a few threads and it sounds like I should just exclude the payments provider domain within google analytics (still need to look into exactly how to do this yet).

Appreciate if someone can confirm that is the way forward, if there are any up or downsides, or other approaches I should be taking. I am fairly new to both shopify and google analytics.

Thanks

Hi there,

Exactly, you need to add the payment providers to a referral exclusion list in GA.

This guide explains it quite well: https://insightwhale.medium.com/adding-payment-gateway-to-referral-exclusion-list-in-google-analytic...

There are no downsides, as it is double counting sessions and messing up your reporting as it is.

Good luck!
