All things Shopify and commerce
Hi there, I am hoping someone could offer some help!
We are using Google's sales channel to send our product feed to Google Merchant. We have numerous products which may have 0 products available, but the quantity is being tracked, and the option to continue selling when out of stock is checked too.
Google is saying there is an "Availability mismatch" and gave an example that the value on the landing page versus the value in the data feed don't match - see below.
Value on the landing page - v:out_of_stock
Value in the data feed - v:in_stock
I would assume that if a product has the above options checked, it would all align and be no errors.
We are using the Shopify Dawn theme version 6.0.2, so I don't know if there is an issue there with the landing page?
Any help our
Just noticed some of my message was cut off...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to Google Merchant Center > Products > All products > click on your product > scroll to the bottom and view the submitted info vs the collected info.
Both need to match.
If the submitted info matches the info visually on the website, this indicates the structured data is incorrect, which you can test using: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results
If the info does not match visuall and structured data also does not match, then this means the free app you are using is causing issues, and recommend you make sure the quantity levels match the in hand available stock you have.
Required as per: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/6150127#:~:text=Unavailable%20promotions
If your structured data is wrong, you can update your setup as per the official guide here: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/7331077?hl=en

Hi Emmanuel,
Thank you for the reply!
The issue here is the product hasn't even synced over becuase of this so I can't check it in Google Merchant.
I used the rich results URL above to test one of the products and all was seemingly okay.
I have also noticed a massive drop off in syncs (see below) between the Google app in Shopify to Google Merchant since the start of the year too so I wonder if there is something else wrong?
I was also under the impression if a product has 0 items in stock, but "Continue selling when out of stock" has been checked it would treat the product has being in stock still, regardless of wether the item has 0 items available?
Thanks,
Jack
Products not syncing is a common issue with the free app, I recommend you reach out to Shopify support to get this fixed.
I believe your availability concept is correct with the free app. I was merely referencing the technical policies from Google.
You could also try to disable automatic updates in GMC > gear icon > automatic improvements. This has worked in the past.
If you can not fix the syncing issue or want a better app, I use the following app for my clients: https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds
Hi Emmanuel,
Noted, I will open a ticket and see what I get back.
Yes sorry, I was more saying it to see if my thinking was correct 😅
I will try the point about automatic improvements too thank you!
Thanks again for your pointers Emmanuel.
Thanks,
Jack
Hey Jack,
I'm wondering if you ever got this sorted. I'm having the same issues with Dawn v13.02
GMC suspended me and won't re-approve me because of issues like this:
Value in landing page - OUT_OF_STOCK
Value in the data feed - IN_STOCK
But Product Snippets using search.google.com/test/rich-results for the exact same link that GMC says is in conflict shows:
"availability" : "http://schema.org/InStock",
I'm using Multifeeds app after switching from the Shopify Google app. In GMC All Products I see the Raw feed and Final attributes from Multifeeds both as: availability - in stock.
Inspecting the landing page eve shows as "InStock" for the LD+JSON script:
{...
"availability": "InStock",
}
So I'm not sure why the Landing Page value that GMC uses is coming up as out of stock.
Thanks,
Mike
Having the same problem with 2 of my clients. Tried everything to fix.
They are my only clients that have this issue and the only ones using the Dawn Theme.
Hoping that updating to the latest version of Dawn Theme will fix.
