Greetings - Your Account is Terminated

After working half a day to figure out how to set up Shopify to integrate with my website, found out it was  waste of time. Shopify sandbagged me with this greeting:

"We have terminated My Store due to activity that is not, or that we suspect is not, a legitimate commerce practice."

No details, no reason, no rationale. No, I am not going to wade through a book full of legalese why Shopify does what it does, and try to guess which one of a 1000 reassons is the reason they closed my account.

I have been in business since 01/01/1990, and filed federal and state tax returns every year since.

By falsely accusing me of doing something wrong or illegal, Shopify seems to have shown that they are not to be trusted, that any business relationship with them is unethical.

Hey there, I'm really sorry to hear about your experience that does sound frustrating after putting in so much work.

From what you described, Shopify may have automatically flagged your store due to a potential violation of their Acceptable Use Policy or Terms of Service. These actions are often triggered by automated systems, especially if there’s anything that seems irregular even unintentionally.

While I know it’s frustrating not to have a detailed explanation, you can try reaching out directly to Shopify Support and request a manual review. They sometimes reconsider if you can verify your business details or clarify any confusion.

If your store was mistakenly flagged, you deserve a fair chance to clarify things especially with a long business history like yours. I hope you're able to resolve this and get a clearer answer from the Shopify team.

Thanks for reply, but terminating an acount because the "automated system" "suspects" you did something wrong is the same as  a cop arresting you and incarcerating you because he thinks you "may" have committed a crime, the nature of which is unstated. There is no valid justification nor rationalization for such action.

"you deserve a fair chance to clarify things " ?  It is not my obligation to acknowledge Shopify when they do misuse communciation and do not bring understanding - do not describe what they are offended about. The failure here is Shopify's - their failure to bring understanding, based on their failure to communicate what their reality is. They refused to provide any evidence. The same as a coutroom where the evidence presented is 'irrelevant" or not allowed to be seen by the Defense. Mistrial. Shopify not only violates the norms of acceptable business practices, they violate commonly-accepted societal norms of communiction. That is how we understand each other, by communcation. Shopify supresses this most basic of Human Rights.

If shopify uses such unethical tactics and means concerning account status, it implies they are unethical throughout the rest of their business model. Who wants to do business with a "partner" who is covert and does not explain his actions? When that happens, my ethical response is to disconnect from that business.

I am not going to do business with Shopify, they can not be trusted. I am only continuing with their extra-judicial process until I can determine if they have damaged my reputation.  So far, there is not even an acknowledgement from Shopify that they received my communication contesting their termination notice.
