I have GTIN Number Missing Error While Importing From Shopify to Google Merchant Center. Supplier does not have GTIN number for the product.
Tried to search other site for finding GTIN number. No Success.
Added my own MPN number. Some products get approved and some product still disapproved by google.
What is the best practice for resolving this with google? (For example should I add them as custom product and What is the fastest way to import them from shopify to google merchant center as custom propduct)
Any fast resolution to this is really apperciated.
You can not add your own MPN, MPN stands for Manufacturer Part Number, ie only a manufacturer can assign this value, not a reseller.
The best practice is as followed:
1) If a manufacturer has assigned a barcode then you are required to add this info in the GTIN field. Alongside the brand value with identifier exists to yes.
2) If the manufacturer has not assigned a barcode, then remove the values brand, mpn and gtin and set identifier exists to no.
Here is a guide how to apply the rules using feed rules: https://support.google.com/google-ads/community-video/216954171
Can I define my products as custom products as most of my supplier does not have GTIN number for the products?
If yes how can I define as custom product in Shopify please?
Also, my google merchant center is not showing feed rules under products (refer to below snapshot). Any advise please?
You will need to change to classic mode to apply feed rules. Click on the question mark in GMC > scroll to the bottom > convert to classic.
Yes you can set to custom products, you need to do this in your Shopify app > google and youtube.
