Has anyone else experienced withheld funds on their new store?

So unfortunately we fell victim to our money shopify stole from us....

So we had a new store on shopify where we had sales very quickly. We were doing about 500 to 1500 a day. However, this lasted only 10 days before shopify put a hold on our account and ended up holding our money for 120 days.

It is a shame that as soon as you make a little money they can just hold the money. Anyway in the end we still managed to send the products to our customers with a loan. Eventually all our customers received their products and we did not receive any more chargebacks or anything else. Our payout was scheduled on October 12 according to an employee and to this day nothing has been paid out. We are literally in contact with the supports every day and they do nothing else about it and send us back and forth. We are entitled to the money as we have delivered to our customers as well. It is too sick for words that they treat someone's money this way. We no longer saw this money as our money but we wanted to use this money for my niece that currently has stage 2 cancer and is 4 years old.


I'm just curious is someone else experienced this from shopify and i'm already seeing alot of people complaining on trustpilot about shopify. Since we already started to share my niece story on tiktok we will also will mention that shopify doesn't give a f*ck even tough the money could save or help someone's live.

Thanks for posting this upsetting situation to the Forums. 

 

While I can't speak to your specific case as I do not have access to your account, I can provide some general information. 

 

The date of October 12th sounds like the expiration date of the reserve. The expiration date does not mean the funds will be paid out that day. This is simply the expiration of the hold. The funds will be released and then scheduled into a payout based on your regular payout schedule. Payouts in general, take a few days to process, and do not include weekends. As such, your payout could very well be scheduled. However, It is also possible that a reserve may need to be extended, this would have disclosed to you at the time the reserve was placed.

 

In the meantime, I recommend replying to your email thread with our escalated team as they would be able to provide more context on the payout, when it is scheduled, and if the reserve was in fact extended.

If shopify would say that the funds will be released from the hold and would say that we can receive our money in the next couple of days i totally could understand that. But we are just going back and fourth with the live chat and nobody is giving a clear answer. Now we received the same mail from the risk team saying that we can't use shopify payment anymore. This is no suprise because this is the same email we received 200 days ago. It's sick that you need to fight for your money that is your money that could save a sick child that has stage 2 cancer. We will try our best to make sure we will spread this fraud to everybody on social media because my niece already got some eyeballs on tiktok so i'm happy to spread this thing out if shopify doesn't come with a solution in the next 48 hours.

I hope you got your money and your niece is doing okay. I’m currently going through the same situation with not receiving my money after reserve expires. SMH it’s really messed up.
