Have some varients as pickup only?

I am making the move over from my website on Squarespace and I have a few queries in regards to variants. I sell prints and would love to have both prints and framed prints together so that a customer could for eg pick a pick, then a size and then whether it's framed or not. If they choose a framed print, i'd like this to be pickup only as opposed to a print which can be shipped. Is there a way to do all of this on Shopify?

Yes something similar to this is possible on Shopify but Shopify and it's theme by default doesn't supports that. You will have to either use variant third party apps or you can also hire a Shopify developer to custom code this feature for you. By default mixed items don’t work well at checkout. Depending on your theme you will also be customizing the product page.

The setup I recommend is create separate products for print and framed prints, then use product variants for different sizes.

Then have the option for in store pickup. If you’re not already aware when you have multiple shipping options available the lowest price is the default so that would be local pickup. I’ve experienced shops that have to deal with correcting this and explaining to their customer the item has to be shipped. So there are some annoying issues to deal with.

Have a partner help you, it’s less stress that way and easier for you to create the direction. I’ve recently created 4 Shopify retainer plans that cover all areas of merchant needs I’ve come across in the last 6 years.
