All things Shopify and commerce
Hello all,
On around New Year’s Day, I noticed shopping from my Instagram was no longer an option. I have had Instagram shopping on my account since launch 2 years ago so I tried to troubleshoot why.
3 things:
1) on the commerce manager, it says @silverandriley is approved for Instagram shopping (makes sense, since I’ve always had the shop).
2) the visibility of my Instagram shop in commerce manager shows as hidden and no matter what I do, I cannot change it back to visible, it just goes back to hidden.
3) on my IG, I noticed that under Settings > Business, I no longer have “Shopping” as an option. Why? Yet in commerce manager, it says all is good to go. I’ve tried switching back to personal, then to professional again thinking that’d solve it, but no dice.
I don’t know what to do. I’ve filed a case with Facebook Commerce help since Jan 1st and it’s been the most frustrating experience of my life. It’s been 22 days and all they keep asking for is screen recordings (which I’ve sent multiple times) and repeating the same thing about how their specialist team is looking at it and “due to the complex nature” it takes time. They aren’t doing anything.
I’ve just launched a new collection and not having Instagram shopping is really hurting. My shop isn’t appearing in shopping explore, etc. It’s really painful 😣
Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.
hello,
did you offered direct access to your account recently? I meant did you hired anyone to help you with any task regarding Facebook or Instagram? Or have you been travelling recently?
Hi! Yes I did. Is that a reason why the shop button has disappeared? And now how do I get it Back ?
Hello,
in case you authorized direct access to your account by offering the email and password to someone to help manage your account or whatever, then you should have checked if this person's country is allowed to use this feature or not (you can google something like "Instagram shopping countries or just check this link https://www.facebook.com/help/instagram/321000045119159)
But since the issue has already been accused, there's one way to fix it, which is to change the password immediately, this will force everyone else with direct access to your account to sign out, then you have to wait, for a few days until Instagram detects your current location and give you access back to the Shopping feature (may take up to 3 weeks in some cases)
when you say access to the account, do you mean Instagram account or FB business manager account?
I've been having the exact same problem for almost the exact same amount of time, with the same (useless) responses from Facebook tech support. Please update if you get a response or solution from them, and I'll do the same. It's really hindering my sales in a big way the past few weeks. Another thing I noticed is that under Business Settings > Users > People I only have Partial access to the accounts. But there is no one else on the accounts with full access! I've changed passwords since the last time I had a contractor using the account, and that was weeks before this problem arose. So I'm mystified.
Hi, I don't know if you ever figured this out but I just got mine working again. I had to disable Shop Pay and go back to using Shopify as my default payment method. It worked instantly.
Thanks for this! Worked for me. I also disconnected my Instagram from facebook business manager and reconnected it after disabling shop pay. After reconnecting, I turned shop pay back on.
I have the same issue, but never used shop pay, I'm losing my mind here
