Hiding products from the whole store

Hi everyone, i'm trying to build an app that hides some products in the whole store based on some conditions, like what Locksmith does but with some other custom conditions, does anybody know how is it possibile to hide products in the store? is there any open source app that does this so i can take a look at the code?
