High traffic no sales

Hey everyone, can anyone help and give me a feedback? https://checkmate-fit.com/

I have my store opened for not too long right now, but I did get a freelancer to post ads for me and I have been getting a really traffic of people on my store but nobody makes it past the main page or even ask any questions. I haven't had any sales yet, but am I just being impatient or is there something you recommend me fixing?

Please and thank you!

Hi @Checkmate1

Hope you're having a great day!

First Congratulations on your store. You’ve put a lot of effort into this website, and it shows.

Traits of effective Contact Us pages

  • Include all relevant contact information: If there are ways your customers can contact you other than email, it’s important to include them on the page as well. For example, if you have a business phone number, a physical location, a Twitter/Instagram/Facebook account, or business hours and expected response times, list them.
  • Inevitably, someone will land on your Contact Us page and not fill out the form to contact you. This is a great opportunity to invite them to do something else! Sign up for your newsletter, check out our sale products or follow you on social media.
  • Once visitors find your Contact Us page, do they get the impression that you actually welcome emails, phone calls, and feedback? Or does your contact page resemble a series of hurdles designed to keep trespassers out? It sounds obvious, but according to what your current page actually says, your customers might not actually follow through with contacting you.

Some examples:

Build an effective "About Us" page

What an About Us page should be is a goal-oriented sales page, one that focuses on highlighting the biggest selling points of your story and brand, making a strong first impression on curious customers. Your "About Us" page is a home for your founding story, a place to show off your business wins, and a sales page that answers the most pressing question new customers have about your business outside why they should buy its products: Why should they buy from you?

Some examples:

Evaluate your homepage

Use a heatmap to see how far people are scrolling and where they click. Do they stay on your homepage? What information are they missing?

Ramp up your product page

Showcase reviews and personal testimonials

scrnli_05_06_2021_15-49-37.png

Nearly 95% of shoppers read reviews before making a purchase, and surveys have consistently shown that customers trust reviews more than descriptions provided by the store. Also, allows customers to add reviews to your product pages.

Create a FAQ Page and make it discoverable

In Short, a FAQ page reduces the overall anxiety of purchasing online—and that goes a long way in getting on-the-fence customers to buy from you.

Use social media to build relationships

scrnli_05_06_2021_15-41-42.png

Your social media accounts' links lead nowhere. Social media accounts are a key component of a brand’s online presence.

Look at your data to see where you're losing shoppers

Take a closer look at your website data. Each store is different, and reviewing your analytics can point out specific areas where your users are struggling. This data can be found in your Shopify dashboard or through Google Analytics.

Products/Collections Page

Under each image, you should lay a CTA button.  Please note that the CTA Button here should have the same styling as other CTA Buttons.

I know it sounds like a lot, but you’re already on the right track.

Thank you sooo much!!! I haven't had any sales yet, so how could I build up all the reviews and all?

What about social media, instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest is a good idea?

Hi @Checkmate1

How to earn customer trust (Reviews, testimonials, etc) when you have zero sales?

Consider giving away samples:

  • giving them to a set number of people and asking for a review in return. You can capture reviews or testimonials and display them on your site once there are enough to build credibility.
  • Send your products to influencers or bloggers who can get the word out to your target audience for you.
  • Distribute free samples through pop-ups or events to drum up interest, knowing that people who like the product will search you out later online.

Remember to get your products in the right hands to maximize your return.

Useful resources about free sample strategies:

Share the human side of your business by focusing on you as the business owner instead of just your products, telling your story and your brand’s story at the same time on the About Us page on your site, explaining your reasoning for wanting to do better for your customers. This helps customers get to know you more, which lays the foundation for them to trust your business, too.

Build relationships through content by blogging regularly to show that you’re invested in your business, your industry, and your customer's problems, which is always a good sign for consumers; encouraging discussions that let you connect with people. Even if users only leave a quick comment, this gives you a valuable opportunity to talk to them one-on-one, establishing a personal relationship through their screen and inviting them to revisit the conversation again. For content marketing to be effective, you must provide high-value, high-quality content on a regular basis. See how a mattress company like Casper, for example, uses their blog to demonstrate that they know a thing or two about getting a good night's rest.

Highlight an excellent return policy

If you were on the fence about making a purchase, what’s the one thing that would immediately make you feel better about buying? A great return policy (money-back guarantees, etc😞

  • How to initiate a return or exchange (i.e., an email address to contact or a web page to visit)
  • What products can be returned for?
  • In what condition can items be returned
  • When things can be returned or exchanged (i.e.. 30, 60, or 90 days past purchase date)
  • What products are “final sale” (i.e., non-returnable, non-exchangeable)
  • What items can be returned
  • What items can be exchanged
  • etc

Make yourself available for customer inquiries by answering their inquiries as quickly and thoroughly as possible. It's a big plus that you already have a live chat.

What about social media, instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest is a good idea?

Hey Michael,

Question. I have done a little bit of sales the past two weeks but this week has really slowed down. A lot of people are getting to the shopping cart and checkouts but not converting from that.

Can you recommend what I need to fix? I didn't change much from sales to not sales, and I don't know what's happening.

Hey - I like the product & the site.

I have just two tiny suggestions:

First, replace Fitness Equipments with just Fitness Equipment (no plural).

Second, think of a way to clarify the title of the latex tube resistance bands. It was wordy and I got a little confused for a sec. Perhaps something like, "resistance band variety pack."

Good luck and many blessings to you,

Heather

Hi @Checkmate1

May I ask which platform your targeted customers are on? Cause if you target wrong audience, then all effort spent on ads is meaningless, and you can't get sales. As your niche is fitness equipment, I would recommend Instagram is a good platform to target right customers and gain your sales. Hi @Checkmate1,

Hyde here from Shopify.

You've done a fantastic job on the site itself. The content is bang on, the user journey is intuitive, the branding is consistent and authentic.

How long is "not too long right now"? It will of course take a while to build up your authority in the sportswear domain, but you should be using these early stages to develop some good habits in terms of studying your analytics.

For example, why not dig into the behavior of your visitors and potential customers by checking out what landing page visitors start a session on:

21-06-idn8o-sbb0w

21-06-cncb5-5skpz

You could also check out the Online Store Conversio over Time report, to see how many visitors added something to the cart, and how many even got to the checkout:

What is your marketing plan like though? Do you have a content strategy in place? You see, I don't see a blog on your store, so I'm wondering how it is that you're developing buyer trust and authority in your field without sharing SEO-rich blog posts on social media and Google?

Blogs are incredibly useful but you might prefer video too - so you could opt to create a Youtube channel instead.
Also if you're using paid ads in your marketing then you can start to track how your marketing is doing in order to tweak your messaging and your audience.

I hope this helps!

All the best, Hyde

@Checkmate1 Like you, I have had the same issues. I have put almost 1,000 USD into ads (Facebook, Google) have you found anything that just "clicked" and worked? I have zero sells. Thanks for your post. BTW I love your page i think its great!
