All things Shopify and commerce
I've been trying to add the cost of each of my Printify orders to my Shopify store so I can calculate my exact profits. How do you all handle this?
You can store Printify order costs in Shopify using metafields:
Set Up Metafields:
Connect Printify Data: Use a tool like Zapier, Integromat, or custom scripts to fetch the Printify order cost (via Printify API) and automatically update the Shopify order metafield.
Display Metafields:
Calculate Profit: Add a script or app that subtracts the Printify cost (stored in the metafield) from the order total to calculate profit.
Hi, hope you are well!
Thank you for sharing this process on automating cost tracking using metafields. I have a question regarding this approach:
If I set up metafields to store Printify order costs in Shopify and use a tool like Zapier or a script to fetch the data, will this allow me to see my net profit directly in Shopify Analytics? Additionally, will it help me calculate the exact cost of each order, ensuring accuracy for my profit calculations?
Also, would it be possible to filter a specific range of orders, like order 10 to 50, to calculate the total cost for that range? This would make it easier for me to analyze costs for specific order batches.
I’d love to clarify how this would integrate with Shopify’s reporting.
Thank you!
Hey there @Flippert have a look at the image and I believe that’s all you should need to calculate your profits on Printify. You can check out the website for more info https://help.printify.com/hc/en-us/articles/22262793483665-How-can-I-calculate-my-store-s-profit#:~:....
Hi, thank you for helping me with this case. What I’m trying to do is accurately calculate my exact profit using my gross sales and net profits in Shopify Analytics.
For example, my payout on December 2 was for 96 orders on Shopify, but on Printify, it shows that I’ve made 100 orders. Because of this discrepancy, I’m unable to calculate my profits to the exact dollar. This is why I’m not relying on Printify Insights to determine my costs.
Would it be possible to add a filter to view costs for a specific range of order numbers? For instance, from one specific order number to another. This could help me calculate the exact cost and resolve any discrepancies.
