How can i 301 redirect old domain to new domain in Shopify

Hello, 

can anyone support?

Previously we were running the website on Improwell.com but now we changed domain to the concevoir.com.
We redirected improwell.com to concevoir.com but my concern is I want to make 301 redirections improwell.com to concevoir.com
we were tried but unable to do that. Please help us to make 301 redirection.

You can follow these steps to 301 to redirect the old domain to the new domain in Shopify.

1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

2. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Online store.

3. Click Open sales channel.

4. Click Navigation**.

5. Click URL Redirects.

6. Click Create URL redirect.

7. In Redirect from, enter the old URL that you want to redirect visitors from.

   Only broken URLs should be redirected. Broken URLs might load a "page not found" placeholder message, or "404" might appear somewhere on the page or in the page title. If the URL still loads a valid webpage, then the URL redirect won't work.

Hi, does this work if it's a totally different domain? I have a client who wants to have a new primary domain, but redirect traffic from their old domain to the new site, and specifically to certain pages. 

I can see that I can add the old domain as a secondary domain in the site settings, but can I create redirects using an old website slug to a new website slug? will that work? 

E.g. 

oldwebsite.com

brandnewwebsite.comn

I need oldwebsite.com/brand-name to redirect to brandnewwebsite.com/different-brand-name

Hopefully that makes sense? Thanks so much in advance

did someone from Shopify get back to you with an answer ?

I'm looking for a solution to 301 redirect our old websites aa.com to bb.com. I've prepared a redirection plan for each page to keep as much SEO performances as possible but without access to htaccess, this is not doable 😕

In your Shopify admin, go to Settings -> Domains.

Here you can Connect an Existing Domain so that you'll have both the old and new domains set up.

Set the new domain as the Primary for Online Store.

Set the old url a Redirect to the Primary domain.
