How can I accept Direct Debit payments in the UK

I would like to accept Direct Debit payments in the UK.

Online only - it’s not possible to originate a direct debit in the UK via a POS terminal.

Most online payment gateways will be processing payments through credit cards. However, you can trying exploring third-party gateways and find one that can support co-branded credit cards (eg. Visa-debit or Mastercard-debit). Alternatively, you can also consider setting up Manual Payments (eg. bank deposits, external debit, etc.).

Pay by Bank is now available for Stripe UK merchants and you can use this solution to accept payments via Stripe and Pay by Bank.
