Re: Negligent customer support

How can I access my account without two factor authentication on Shopify?

I have been a shopify user for 6 years & have built 3 websites on this platform.

I have recently had trouble logging back into my account as my phone number changed so I couldn't receive two factor authentication & I do not have recovery codes.

My website is not my hobby, it's my livelihood.

Upon trying to contact customer service, I am only offered the option of chat support.

You cannot contact customer support via email nor via any phone line.

This is outrageous.

I am at the mercy of a follow up from customer support in order to access my business site.

The initial enquiry I made did not result in a follow up, I was assured that it would.

I was lucky to have created a staff account so that I can even log in to make this post.

The chat support function literally no longer opens for me otherwise.

What am I to do when this is the only option to get customer service & customer service agents have not made good on their word with following up?

Where is the accountability & why is it so difficult to receive customer support?

UPDATE : I have now contacted three seperate customer service agents and reached out to the platform via facebook messenger. I cannot be put through to the team that I am in queue for help with & there is no clarity on when I am going to receive support or get an email response.

I am beside myself, have lost sleep and have spent hours pleading with customer service agents to help me.

I am a STRANDED, long time user of this platform.

This is not good enough. How can such a large corporation not have a phone line, ability to email for support or request a call back?

Can someone please help me!

I absolutely agree with you. We are in bad chatbot hell now....and it's no way to run a business. Shopify must have laid off thousands for the dire straits they seem to be in.
