Re: Bulk Editing

Solved

How can I add thousands of products to Google and Shop sales channels efficiently?

  • Hey guys. So my problem is that I have 24000 products. I had a third party import them from a catalogue. They did a fantastic job, however, I learned after, that they are not allowed to enable sales channels. So none were showing on Google or shop. I managed to manually add Google and Shop to 2100 products manually via bulk editor, but the site stops working at around product 2100. So I inverted the product list, and manually entered the bottom 2100 products, but same thing. Shopify stops working at about 2100. I have about 20000 products on between to add. What's the easiest way to add these products to google and shop sales channel?

I do have a basic knowledge of csv and excel. Is exporting the products to a sheet and re adding the way to go?

Hello,

You can set this on the products page of the Shopify Admin by doing the following:

  1. Click on the checkbox above the first product and then click on Select all products in this store

  2. Once all products are selected, click on the three dots (...) on the right side of the of the page and choose Include in sales channels

  3. In the popup, select the sales channels you want to include and click on Include products

This will start a background process to include the products in the sales channel(s) you selected. There's no way to see the progress of the update and it might take a while (or stop altogether) with the large amount of products you have.

After making the update I'd wait a couple hours and then come back and check the products. In the products view you can filter for products excluded from a particular sales channel:

If you still see some products here I would try adding them again and repeating the process until everything is updated.

Hopefully this works out but let me know if you run into any issues. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any way to update this through the API unless you're on a Shopify Plus store with a custom app.

Best,

Daniel

I have tried to click all products, then all products in category to exclude them from all sales channels and it never works and never processes the request.

Thanks for this. I've been trying to figure out how to remove out-of-stock inventory items in bulk from the Facebook and Instagram feeds. Several other threads here were helpful, too.

Here's what I did.

  1. Created an automated collection of all items that have zero stock. Then, I create a view of the products from that collection.
  2. Once I had the right products in view, I selected 'All Items...' and then used your recommendation. I was looking everywhere and missed the option on the right with the three dots.
  3. Then just simply select excluded from the channel.

It worked perfectly (and quickly!). Thanks!
