Hi @aceassured,
What's the minimum length of fabric for customers to buy—0.5 or 1 meter? And how do you do the pricing? Is it per meter?
If you cannot find a suitable solution to adjust the quantity selector, you may explore an alternative approach by utilizing the Easify Product Options app's Quantity option type to replace the default quantity selector on Shopify. This option allows customers to enter their preferred product length freely.
Also, you can set the minimum value for entry at 0.5, and enable price calculation based on the entered quantity. Below is an example:
I have just tried what you have suggested above as I too wish to sell fabric by the 0.5m but it will not allow the customer to input just 0.5m and if the customer adds 1.5m to the cart the total price is calculated incorrectly, it also is not replacing the shopify default quantity box it is just adding in on the product page so there is now 2 quantity boxes. Can you shed any light on this?
Hi @Sell2,
Could you please give the Dimension option type of the app a try? I've set up another demo for you utilizing this option, enabling customers to enter measurements like 0.5m or 1.5m into the length field.
Within the app settings, you'll establish the base price per meter:
Regarding the quantity box, you can easily hide the default Shopify quantity selector in your theme.
Please test out the demo and let me know whether it aligns with your requirements or not.
I've already shared 3 images of the Dimension settings in my previous response, could you please take another look?
Could you provide further details on why the Dimension feature isn't meeting your requirements? Where specifically does it fall short?
It keeps adding it to the base price of the product, i have attached a screenshot for you to see what happens when it goes in to the cart
Hi @Sell2,
We realize we didn't explain thoroughly enough. The cost calculated from the dimensions will be added on to the price of your main product. If you keep your original product price unchanged, it will effectively duplicate the price when the dimension cost is added.
Here are some solutions to address this issue. The most common one involves setting your main product price to $0.00 and then hiding both the price and quantity selector from your theme. Another option is to continue displaying your main product price and adjust the price formula to deduct the main product price. However, this second solution only works if the minimum meter your customer can buy is equal to or greater than 1 meter.
Please consider these options. We can assist you in setting up your chosen solution 😊 and can explore additional options if needed.
