How can I alter my blog's URL from /blogs/blog to .com/blog?

How can I change that to say .com/blog?

It simply says, Blog, in navigation.

Currently, users are unable to customize the URLs that are used for the different pages on their site. This means that you wouldn't be able to adjust how your URL looks for your blog pages. This is because the pathing of your URLs is incredibly important for your Search Engine Optimization, as well as ease of navigation for your customers.

Of course, we've received lots of feedback around this limitation, and folks have asked that we revisit this and provide the ability to customize URLs. Though I don't have any information to share on when such a functionality may become available, I'm happy to make our developers aware of your desire to do this task, as well as the 'why' behind it. You can trust that our developers will see that you're looking to be able to customize your URLs, and they'll keep that in mind when working on future updates for Shopify.

Thanks, Imogen, for your reply. I thought it was odd that the URL would end in "blogs/blog" and not just blog.  I don't understand where the plural "s" comes. (I'm a curious person and I like to KNOW things.) 😁

I do understand the important of URLs for SEO purposes. While I have you here, I have another URL question.

When preparing a product for publication, the URL picks up the title that comes from the supplier, which is usually a lot of keyword-stuffed mile-long words. I shorten the titles to suit my store. Then, either I change the URL to suit, or the system does it for me. THEN I publish. That's okay, right? Because the original gibberish was never live?

I just wanted to jump in to expand on @JoshHighland's comment. The way the blog URL structure is set up allows for you to have multiple blogs, each with their own specific url for SEO purposes. When @JoshHighland mentions you have 'multiple' blogs, they're just highlighting that, if you were to have multiple blogs, one would have a URL with '...blogs/titleofnewblog' as opposed to your previous blogs. It's sort of why the URL structure is set up this way and can't be edited - each blog you create gets a fair shake at performing well SEO-wise!

To answer your 2nd question, you're totally fine to do things that way! You're right that the product titles used by suppliers are long and keyword stuffed (this helps you find them on the supplier's platform). You're more than welcome to change the product names to whatever you like! Instead of having those keywords in the product name, you can instead put them in your product descriptions; that will help with SEO!
