Hey everyone,

I want to make an automation where a thank you email is automatically sent to someone after they purchase a specific product. How do I do that?

Hi,

To do this task, access your admin panel, then navigate to Settings > Notifications > Customer Notifications > Order Processing. You can edit the email content from there.

Yeah, I understand that. But again I want a specific custom thank you email that only sends when a specific product is bought.

You can set up this automation using Shopify's built-in email marketing tool. Here are the steps you can follow:

  1. Go to your Shopify admin and click on "Marketing" in the left-hand menu, then select "Automations".

  2. Click "Create an automation" 

  3. Under "Trigger", select "Order created" and then checks if name equal "your specific product name" then send email

The flow will look like this

What condition is it for the product name?

1- Click on order and select the option "order created"

2- then chef if name equals "enter your specific product name"

3- then Do this "send marketing email"


and when you click on send marketing email it will ask you to edit email template

Right but for the name what name? There are many options when choosing a conditional step

Hey Zak, I was looking for the same thing. For anyone who is still searching, this is where I finally found it:

Has this method worked for everyone? I have been using this method for months now only to find out the emails are not sending to customers. They are not even reaching their spam folders. I feel like I am missing something. For "product name" should I be inputting the specific Variant name? or the overarching product name? 

 

For example;

I sell registrations for workshops, the product name would be something like "5/10 Orchid Kokedama workshop" but I have variants for "registration" and "Take home DIY kit".

 

Is the line item name "5/10 Orchid Kokedama workshop"? or "registration"?
