Hi All,

We have started to garner some traction with more website traffic, but we aren't increasing sales. Any recommendations for optimizing the conversion rate? Thank you in advance.

Hello BarryBoy, I have had a look at your store and I have a few suggestions on how it could be improved in order to improve the conversion rate.
1) Make use of a sticky header. This would allow your customers to be able to scroll through your store and still access the the menu bar and search button so they don't need to go through the stress of scrolling up.
2) You should put links to your social media accounts at the bottom of the homepage. This would allow your customers to follow the accounts on various platforms of their choice and keep in touch with your business. If you don't have accounts on various social media platforms for your business then I suggest opening some.

3) You should create a section for the latest arrivals on the homepage. I see you already have a section for best sellers so it would be a good idea to also have one for the latest arrivals as those are the two categories customers tend to look at when they visit a store.

4) Showing customers what other customers are doing in your store is a very creative way to increase conversion rates. You can let them know when other customers carry out activities such as adding products to their cart, which in turn can encourage them to do likewise. You can install the Show Recent Orders App here https://apps.shopify.com/show-recent-orders

5) You should create a FAQ page. This would help provide answers to questions that people visiting your shop would most likely have. It is also a good avenue for showing off your knowledge to potential customers.

I wish you and your business the best of luck!

Hey there!

Have you taken a look at VideoWise? (www.videowise.com)
The app is designed to increase engagement and conversion through onsite video shopping.
This is a great opportunity to leverage video reviews, or product videos as a way to increase social proof and buyer trust.
Especially if you are noticing increased traffic, the video players are designed to capture the attention of your customers with video that incorporates a call to action to simplify the purchase process.
Check out the case studies section on the website for some examples

Thank you for the advice @Rayshuggs . How do make the header sticky? I searched a little but wasn't able to find a clear cut answer. Thank you in advance.

Hi, @AthApothecary.

Thanks for reaching out to the Shopify Community and sharing your question!

It looks like we've got some great feedback provided by @DerrickJames and @Rayshuggs for ways to help increase your store's conversion rate. It's definitely a great idea as mentioned below to include your social media handles within the footer section of your store. I'll share the process below on how to implement this.

Steps to including social media handles in footer section:

  • Navigate to your Shopify admin and click Online Store > Themes > Customize.
  • Within the theme editor, click Theme Settings > Social Media.
  • Under Accounts you'll be able to input the URL of your social handles in the required field.

If you haven't already had a chance to look into this, we have a great resource from our Shopify Blog for additional ways to increase your conversion rate, boost brand visibility and help drive sales.

Let us know if you have any further questions on the process shared above or questions that may have come up.

Keep up the great work!

Hi Barry,

Hope all is well.

I did run an audit on your site and I see a lot of problems which needs to be fixed. For example, on the homepage when a user lands for the first site, the CTA 'Shop Now' is actually not visible as the colour of the banner is green and also the CTA has a similar shade of colour which makes it a friction for the user to identify the CTA and start the journey.

Another example, Your product page does not have information about shipping or return which is an anxiety for the user. They might have price shock when they hit the cart page and bounce off.

There are many such problems which needs to be addressed which could yield long term gains for you rather having solutions for short term sales.

Hope this helps.

Hi @Rayshuggs ,

It's great to hear that your website is getting more traffic! To optimize your conversion rate, one strategy you could try is using social proof to build trust with your visitors. You can try the "Iconic Sales Pops" app for providing social proof.

It will display real-time notifications of recent purchases or sign-ups. These notifications can create a sense of urgency and credibility, encouraging other visitors to make a purchase. Additionally, make sure your website is easy to navigate, with clear calls to action and high-quality product images and descriptions. Best of luck!

Try to do Shopify CRO Audit, it can identify the issues with Conversion Rate Optimization.
