How can I bulk delete a specific product variant and its associated picture?

I have 602 products with the same variants, but I need to delete one of the variants across all of these products.

So let's say that the variant is "Blue", then how would I delete this variant across all products, plus the picture associated with it in each product?

We have an app called the Ablestar Bulk Product Editor, which lets you bulk delete all variants at once.  

You could remove all the ‘blue’ variants, but the image for the blue variant would still be associated with the product. It is possible to remove images from a product by filename though, so if the filename for the image was something like ‘shirt-blue.jpg’, you could do that in a separate edit. 

The app also has a free version available that allows for 5 edits in any 30 day period, and each edit can consist of up to all the products on the store, so you can try it out without incurring any costs.  If you have any questions or need help setting up an edit you can reach us directly at support@ablestar.com.

I've been using Ablestar bulk editor and it's been good, but I can't figure out how to get it to delete a variant across a collection.

That's awesome that you're already using our app! 

To delete variants in a collection you would need to do a search for products in the collection, and then add another condition for “Option 1 Name” that equals “blue”, or what ever value you're looking for. Then after you click ‘Edit Products’, choose the ‘delete variants’ option. 



Please note that deleting variants is permanent. If you'd like us to look over the edit before you run it you can reach out to support@ablestar.com and we’ll make sure everything looks good before you do the deleting.
