All things Shopify and commerce
I have extended trial to advanced shopify plan but testing Shopify features and themes to migrate from Wordpress to Shopify.
I would like to make a checkout page into multiple steps.
Is there a way to do that?
If there are any app that I can use, please let me know.
I need tax exempt link, and Subscriber checkbox in the checkout page too. If it can show express checkout or login options that will be wonderful.
Thank you!
To create a multi-step checkout page and add features like tax exemption, a subscriber checkbox, and express checkout options on Shopify, you can use Shopify apps available on the Shopify App Store. Consider apps like "Multi‑Step Checkout" and "BOLD Multi-Currency." If you're comfortable with coding, you can also customize the checkout page using Shopify's code editor.
@yoonlaser You cannot revert to multi-page checkout unless you're on Shopify Plus. See Shopify's documentation: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/checkout-settings/one-page-checkout. See screenshot:
Since you need a tax-exempt link, I'm assuming this is for a B2B/Wholesale implementation?
I think the best approach here would be to collect this information during registration. You can use an app like Customer Fields to add fields for tax-exempt status, file upload for proof of tax-exempt status, and a marketing opt in.
Our account approval feature will also come in handy if this is, in fact, a B2B store.
Hi @yoonlaser,
Both @Yahya21 and @michael-helium have offered good advice below. Shopify recently released the new one-page checkout which streamlines the checkout process and allows customers to finalize their order via a single checkout page. It is not possible to use to the three-back checkout experience unless your store is on the Shopify Plus plan. Access to checkout.liquid, the theme file that allows for customizations to the checkout, is also restricted to Plus merchants.
I'd agree with @michael-helium's suggestion to use an app to collect additional information from customers before they reach the checkout. Other apps mentioned by @Yahya21 could also be used to customize the checkout in different ways. I'd recommend looking at those and seeing if they offer the functionalities you're looking for.
