All things Shopify and commerce
Hi there,
How do I remove my address from the bottom of the footer for automated abandoned cart and abandoned checkout emails?
I can modify email templates, including the footer, for all my other emails. However I can't modify the automated abandoned cart or abandoned checkout emails.
Thanks.
Cheers,
Fiona

Hello @fiowan,
Greetings from flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $6Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot! I am Gina, and I am here to help.
The inability to modify the footer of the automated abandoned cart and abandoned checkout emails is due to the fact that these emails do not utilize the default Shopify email template. Instead, they employ a custom template generated by Shopify's abandoned cart automation.
To remove your address from the bottom of the footer for automated abandoned cart and abandoned checkout emails on Shopify, you'll need to follow these steps.
* Access your Shopify admin and navigate to Marketing > Automations.
* Locate the Abandoned checkout automation template and click on it.
* Choose Edit > Edit email.
* Within the Email body section, find the footer.
* Remove the text containing your address.
* Save your changes by clicking on Save.
Upon saving the modifications, Shopify will begin sending the new abandoned cart and abandoned checkout emails with your address excluded from the footer.
I trust this will be of benefit to you.
Gina

Thank you so much! Managed to change it 🙂
I do not have an option to "Edit Email." I can only "Edit Workflow." Is the Edit Email feature an option with the Basic Shopify plan?
Following because I have the same question. I do not have an "edit email" option.
Yes. Click on Edit work flow, slide all the way to the end of flow chart and click on the send marketing email box. An Action box will pop up and then you will see the "edit email link"
Probably resolved this by now, but I was having issues traversing the various descriptions, locations, and approaches. Finally found the thing, and it's not a straightforward flow. Posting this for anyone who may land here after smashing their head against this. (Can confirm this is available even for the lower "Starter" Shop tier)
TLDR as as been outlined here there and elsewhere: If the email you're trying to edit is based on an automation (I was looking for the email sent on Cart abandonment for example) you have to go through the Automation sequence itself, find the email node, and access the email template from that node. Sounds simple but it's super super super buried:
Found a better way to do this!
GO TO: SETTINGS>MARKETING>AUTOMATIONS
CLICK THE 3 DOTS NEXT TO THE EMAIL YOU WANT TO CHANGE
SELECT "EDIT WORKFLOW"
CLICK "EXIT" AT TOP LEFT CORNER.
TAKES YOU TO THE EDIT PAGE FOR THE SPECIFIC TEMPLATE. CLICK "EDIT"
REMOVE ADDRESS (or whatever you need to edit/change), AND HIT SAVE
REMOVE ADDRESS, AND HIT SAVE
REPEAT FOR ALL EMAILS IN THE APP.
* Important to know that this might be confusing if you didnt realize that your abandoned cart automations was created my Shopify's app "email". that is different than all the other help articles telling you to go to "Notifications".
Hopes this helps somebody and makes you stop wanting to punch a wall. 🙂
