All things Shopify and commerce
I have a product with a price of £14.99 which has optional accessories for £2.99, £3.99 etc. The problem is the home page shows the product as "From £2.99". How can I change this so the ACTUAL product price is showing?
Tried the Help Center but just keeps repeating the same steps which aren't working.
Thanks in advance
It sounds like you've set up a product with multiple variants, where the cheapest variant option is £2.99.
The are few ways to handle this:
First way is to do inclusive pricing for your variants, where you sell both of the products together.
Example:
If you're selling a pair of shoes for $20, and then you also want to sell extra laces for $2, as well as shoe cleaner for $5 ... then you could have the following variants:
Pair of shoes - $20
Pair of shoes with extra laces - $22
Pair of shoes with cleaner - $25
Pair of shoes with extra laces and cleaner - $27
This is kind of a 'hacky' way to handle things though, as each variant will only have one set of inventory tracking and one single SKU.
The second (and better way) to handle this would be to just list the shoes for sale (from the above example), but then use a Product Options app (https://apps.shopify.com/search?q=product%20options) to offer the additional add-ons, separate from the main product (but they'll still show on the product pages).
Another way to handle this would be to split your variants up into completely separate products, so that you're not running into the issue of trying to list multiple products/accessories within the same product on Shopify.
TLDR: The way you have your variants set up currently isn't really how they're supposed to be used.
The last workaround I could provide is one outlined in this thread:
It would involve editing your theme's coding, to change the price that's being displayed.
You'd have to find the coding that's responsible for showing the prices on your collection pages, and then edit the "money_price" value to be "money_price_max" ... so that it shows the most expensive variant price on your collection pages, instead of the cheapest variant price (which is the default).

Hi @Jonboy80,
Here are 2 solutions for your consideration 🤗:
Update your variants:
Use Easify Product Options for a streamlined approach:
Instead of creating optional accessories as Shopify variants, consider setting them up as custom options within Easify Product Options app. This allows customers to easily select optional items during their purchase. Here's an example of setting up optional accessories (e.g., Main product: Smartphone, Accessories: Phone Case, Screen Protector):
