Shopify is an ecommerce platform, meant for selling products. If you're just trying to make a content-based website (with no products) and then list ads on the site, then you're not really in the right place (there are easier ways to do this). With that said, it is technically possible to do, with a Shopify store/website, if you edit your theme and remove all of the ecommerce bits.
