All things Shopify and commerce
I had a customer who had issues with the product I sold him, so I'll be sending him a new one for free to replace it.
Is there a way to do this easily? How?
Hi @Danavir,
yes you can send him a free product and to implement that you can create a discount coupon with 100% discount just for him which can be redeemed only once and let him order the product again and send him the discount coupon code beforehand, so that he can redeem it at checkout at 0 price.
You can learn more about discounts from the doc below https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/discounts . Also do let me know if you are stuck anywhere in implementing what I told you
Thanks
Is there a way to do this without using a code?
I would prefer just doing it manually for my customer so I don't have to keep bothering him.
@Danavir Yes you can just create a draft order for the customer with all the details and mark it as paid, in this way a new order would be created and your customer will receive a free product.
Let me know if you need more help
Hello, I am also trying to do this manual draft order. However, I want to refund the original product and then give my customer a free product. If I 'mark as paid', then yes, the customer has the product for free, but in my accounting records, it shows it as 'income', which I collected outside of Shopify.
What I would like to do is to mark is as £0 received, so that I know there has been no actual money received for this order. I can't see a way to do this (without using a discount code). Is there a solution?
Thank you
