This is an accepted solution.

"Metaobjects" are not the same as meta-data nor meta-tags for SEO.

https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/custom-data/metaobjects

Metaobjects are used to manage content-data in a store.

That data, or any data for that matter , can possibly be used in the logic for generating different outputs;  that may or may not be used in SEO related features.

On every asset like product, page, collection on backend
There is an option to add meta title and description
Please check if it is helpful, if you need more information

HI,

Thanks for the response. Does the meta data show up anywhere or can I just use key words for the collection/page/product etc?

Thanks

Meta data is different for every collection/page/product. So, meta data that you will add to a collection will show only on that collection, in this way, you can add unique meta data to each collection/page/product.
Thanks!

Hi! So let me get this straight, since the way they are promoting meta objects is confusing from my understanding; my knowledge - meta anything is a backend built-in system that helps google and other search engines, read the data. Shopify - create custom fields such as product details, images, etc. that can be placed on any page or product page.

Here's my issue with this, for me it's not working, the shopify version that is. Now I did some research and it can be a theme issue but there is no resolution for a work around. Can you offer some insight on this?

The time it takes for Google to index a website can vary greatly depending on several factors, including the size of the site, how regularly the site is updated, submission to Google Search Console, site structure and search engine optimization (SEO), and server performance.

Meta tags, an essential part of SEO, play a crucial role in how search engines index and understand your site. Here's a brief overview of meta tags and their types:

Meta Tags Overview:

  • Meta tags are snippets of text that describe a page's content. They don't appear on the page itself but only in the page's source code.
  • Important meta tags include the meta title, meta description, and meta keywords.

Types of Meta Tags:

  • Title Tag: This is the title of your web page and is crucial for both SEO and user experience. It should be concise and include relevant keywords.
  • Meta Description Tag: A brief summary of the page content, which appears below the title in search engine results. It should be compelling and include key phrases.
  • Meta Keywords Tag: While less important for modern SEO, it was traditionally used to list the main keywords of the page.

Hey, @Official_NOMO

You can use metaobjects to build landing pages for your Online Store. For example, if you have an ambassador program, then you can create a web page for each ambassador with a biography, social media links, and images.

After you have a metaobject definition created and create metaobject entries, you can create a template for the metaobject in the theme editor. We have a guide on how this can be setup in Shopify.

If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.
