How can I effectively add multiple collections to products on my website?

I am trying to update my companies website and add some new collections to some products. The issue is, that there are multible collection (20-30 approx) to be added and I think that shopify it struggling with the amount. Ive been trying to get arround any issues by adding 5-10 at a time before saving. However, the main issue is with the saving. Most of the time it doesnt seem to have saved as the 'unsaved changes' message remains at the top. When I return the collections list to continue adding, the new collections are still there although I suspect they would not stay once I leave the product page. At times it does seem to saved succesfully as it will take a little while longer to 'save' and the 'unsaved changes' message does disappear. Although, this seem to result in my collections reverting back to the start of me adding any new ones and means I then have to restart. Any help or advice would be appretiated. Thanks
