How can I enable item removal in the Dawn theme cart?

I've been using the dawn theme for my website. In the cart section it looks like there is no way to delete your items.

So once a customer has an item in the cart, they cannot remove it, they can only increase the quantity. Is there anyone else that has this issue and if so then is there a way to resolve it.
