Hey there! Does anyone know of how to get a report for tax purposes of the $$$ amount of inventory on a specific day to show? I only need the total amount and date - not individual items listed etc - if not can anyone recommend an app.

Hi There,

As you probably know, Shopify only provides the inventory value at month-end. Our Report Toaster app has an inventory history feature which will allow you to get this for any date in time. The only caveat is that the functionality starts tracking history once you install our app and enable the feature. This is because Shopify does not provide the ability to get past inventory history to third-party apps.

Please feel free to take a look and reach out to support if you have questions.

Thanks,

Sam

In the main menu drop down, click on Analytics, then click on Reports.

I find it helpful to sort by Category.

Scroll down to Inventory (in category column).

Click on Month-end Inventory Value.

Change the date to the last day of the month you want to report on. (top left)

Click Export (top right).

Open in Excel or your csv reader.

Very helpful and solved my issue without having to get a 3rd party app involved - thank you
