Hello, my store has been shut down and I am still being charged for the monthly fee and now my account has went into the negatives. How do I go about getting a refund for this charge?
Solved! Go to the solution
This is an accepted solution.
If you are still seeing a monthly charge, then the store has not been closed successfully. To close your store, you will need to :
1. Login into the account.
2. Navigate to Settings > Plan.
3. Click Cancel subscription or Pause or cancel subscription.
4. Select a reason for the cancellation, and then click Continue.
5. Enter your password, and then click Close store.
Once you have, then your store will be fully closed and will remove you from active billing.
Note: If you log in and you see a pricing page, that would indicate that you have more than one store with Shopify as the pricing page only appears for closed and frozen stores.
We can not provide a refund on the previous months as the services were rendered in full. However; if you close your store within a reasonable timeframe of your last invoice generating, then we may be able to offer a refund. To have a refund request reviewed, you will need to speak with Shopify Support.
While we’re not able to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community at this time, we’d be happy to continue assisting you through live chat, email, or callback. Please visit https://bit.ly/3cJkx8V and log in to your account to create a support request.
Since this is the next step I've marked this reply as the solution for the benefit of others who may discover this topic. Thanks!
