How can I get a refund from an online store that didn't send my order?

Is there any recourse after a shop has taken my money and not sent the product? I have a bunch of emails from them, including the confirmation order. I've gone to their website and it's got tumble weeds blowing through it. I'm old and on a fixed income, but wanted to get a t-shirt for my grandson who's a skateboarder. Am I just SOL? Or is there a chat room for other people who've been ripped off? I tried to attach copies of the emails but they were in the wrong format. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your time.

Irene

Hi @Vicsen,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

I definitely understand where you're coming from regarding an order that you placed online and would be happy to share some insight on how we can help. To confirm, you placed an order online but have yet to receive the package correct?

As Shopify is a platform used by many merchants to sell online, we are unable to manage day-to-day operations or intervene in the order process. We do however, encourage you to check out our Order FAQ Page for more information on how to handle your orders.

If after 4 weeks you still have not received your order, we recommend contacting your bank for steps on how to proceed. Additionally, if you believe the store you purchased from is using Shopify as a platform, you can fill out our Report An Issue Form for further investigation.

It's important to note that Shopify is a platform used by many merchants to sell both online and in person, and would not have access to their day-to-day operations or orders. Ultimately it's recommended that that you contact your bank and/or payment provider directly. This will ensure that the appropriate guidance can be given as well as the next steps on how to retrieve funds to get this resolved.

Please let me know if you have any other concerns.

Thank you for your input. The order was placed back in November and I did
put a stop-payment on it with my Discover card. Then the shop rep emailed
me to ask if I would please drop the claim because they just needed a few
more days to get the t-shirt from the printer and would be mailing them
soon. So, like a sucker, I dropped the claim. Then came several back and
forth emails before they ghosted me. So I contacted Discover, only to find
out that once you close the claim, you can't reopen it (something I was not
informed about). I've pretty much chalked it up, but I feel bad about kids
who ordered those t-shirts and got ripped off. I'm an old lady, I ordered
it for my grandson. But $40 is a lot for a teenager to lose.
Anyway, I appreciate you reaching out to me and I'll fill out the form and
submit it, if only to keep them from ripping off others.
Best,
Irene
