Hello! I'm a graphic designer & photographer in the Midwest. Just launched my first official clothing site (streetwear/casual/skate style), offering sharp and affordable pieces. Have an brand new  Instagram account up and running as well with posts and reels. Any tips/tricks for bringing in traffic? What sources are optimal?

Congratulations on launching your clothing site, @undrhype ! It's fantastic that you're already active on Instagram with posts and reels. Here are some tips to help you bring in traffic and optimize your online presence:

  1. Buy a personal Domain.
Currently you have been using default subdomain provided by shopify. I strongly recomend you to buy a domain to look more professional [Exmple https://undrhype.com/]
  2. Engage with Your Audience:

    • Respond promptly to comments on your Instagram posts.
    • Use Instagram Stories to share behind-the-scenes content, polls, and Q&A sessions to foster engagement.
  3. Utilize Hashtags:

    • Research and use relevant and popular hashtags in your niche to increase discoverability.
    • Create a branded hashtag specific to your clothing line to encourage user-generated content.
  4. Collaborate with Influencers:

    • Identify influencers in the fashion or streetwear industry who align with your brand.
    • Reach out for collaborations or send them samples for reviews and mentions.
  5. Run Contests and Giveaways:

    • Host contests on Instagram with requirements like sharing your post, tagging friends, and following your account.
    • Giveaways can help increase your reach and engagement.
  6. Consistent Posting Schedule:

    • Maintain a consistent posting schedule to keep your audience engaged.
    • Experiment with different content formats, such as carousel posts, IGTV, and reels.
  7. Optimize Your Website:

    • Ensure your website is visually appealing and user-friendly.
    • Optimize product descriptions, images, and loading times for a seamless shopping experience.
  8. Social Media Advertising:

    • Consider running targeted ads on Instagram and other platforms to reach a broader audience.
    • Use compelling visuals and clear calls-to-action in your ads.
  9. Email Marketing:

    • Build an email list by offering promotions or discounts for subscribers.
    • Send regular newsletters with updates, promotions, and exclusive content.
  10. Network with Local Businesses:

    • Connect with local businesses, skate shops, or fashion boutiques for potential partnerships or cross-promotions.
  11. Analytics and Iteration:

    • Use Instagram Insights and website analytics to track the performance of your content.
    • Adjust your strategy based on what works best for your audience.

Remember, building a strong online presence takes time, so be patient and stay consistent with your efforts. Good luck with your clothing line!

@undrhype This won't help you drive traffic, but if you want to get more ROI from your social content, we've got a widget that will allow you to repurpose it on your site as a shoppable, scrollable experience. Shoppable Stories can be deployed in minutes and help you extend the useful life of that awesome content that you're creating, allowing it to be seen by people that might not be following you on socials.

As an example, here are two Shopify brands using it:
Soho Poms
Friday Atelier (seeing 30% higher AOV from purchases made directly from this experience)

Look for the customizable Instagram-like content circles on their homepages (see below for Friday Atelier examples). Click into the circles to check out the shoppable experience.

If you're interested, I can let you play with it on your site for a bit. Just let me know.
