All things Shopify and commerce
Hello,
I use Down and shop in Croatian as the default language and with that selection it says that it is 100% translated. However, in the Product template for selections of the selected options (for me, they are size, color and material), the names are still in English, and they cannot be changed:
How to solve this?
Thats because on your products in admin the variant options are on english
If you use a translation app, you need to translate in the translation app. If this is the only language you have. Then you have to modify this in each product.
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION
I wrote that the default and only language is Croatian, which means that Shopify does not allow me to change the names of options/variants, but I can only select the offered names of options in English.
I would really like to see in the screencast how you change the name of the options, when it comes to fields for selection and not for text input.
If your language is Croatian, then your variant name can be written in Croatian. Shopify allows you to change the name of a variant.
I don't know what part I wasn't clear on. Shopify does not allow changing the name because it is a SELECTOR FIELD of 4 available options and NOT a TEXT INPUT FIELD. So, even if I wanted to, I can't type anything, and I can only select the offered options.
@wo and @stefansweb2020 are correct. This is because your variant option names, on all your products, are in English. To change, go to the individual products and rewrite:
To change across all your products in one go, go to your products index, export all products, and you'll see in columns for example I, K, M 'Option1 Name' / 'Option2 Name' etc. Change these in bulk, export the CSV and reimport with overwrite selected, and you'll change all these values.
Note that this is not Translate & Adapt related so I will move this post.

Yeap, you are right. I couldn't enter because I used Enter and Shopify refused to accept it.
Hello,
Now I encountered another problem again. When I replace the name "Color" with the name "Boja", I cannot display the Color Swatch in either the Product template or the Filters. Only displayed if names are English.
So the syntax of the colors themselves is not a problem for me because the color swatch is displayed in English, because I have localized the colors themselves.
Any help there?
Hello,
With the new dynamic category metafields, everything has changed (it's much better now), but there is still a small problem that the option has to be manually translated for each article.
1) The good news is that a ticket has been opened and Shopify has agreed to change the situation and in a future update enable changing the name (meaning also the translation) of the predefined metafields (meaning, in metaobject definition).
2) The semi-good news is that in the same ticket they realized that they also have a problem that the colors cannot be displayed in (as) the color swatch (only as the text, natively).
3) The bad news is that it won't do anything about the implementation of the display of color options in the color swatch (that is, we, users depend on themes and/or applications).
I hope the explanation helped you.
Please explain to me?
How can I code it so I will have color swatch in Hebrew?
