Hi,
I have a store that features local artists. I have a custom collection list page where I added multiple "Collections list" sections to list the collections of each artists work. It is cumbersome to keep these in alphabetical order because:
1. If the max number of collections per section are being used (15), I need to then create a new section and rearrange all the following collections.
2. If the number of collections are not divisable to the number of rows to display (5), it leaves a gap in the collection cards until the next row.
Is there another solution for me to manage the list of collections? I was hoping there would be a way to tag a collection and have the tagged collections displayed as a list, however I do not see this option when editing the collections.
Thanks!
Monica
Yes, there's a better way. Instead of using multiple “Collection List” sections, you can create a custom section that dynamically displays collections using meta fields. This way, you can group, sort alphabetically, and avoid layout issues no need to rearrange manually.
Thank you for this. Can you provide more instructions on how I would achieve this? I am new to using metafields. Thanks!
Just reaching out again to see if you could provide any more detail or resources for me to try this. Thanks!
The collections already exist, and I can sort them in the admin without issue (which seems like what you are describing). I am trying to display them all on a page in alphabetical order automatically without me sorting through them each time I add a new collection.
