All things Shopify and commerce
Hi, I have a problem and I'm struggling to find a straightforward answer.
I've had 1 vendor handling all my products. However recently another supplier offered me a better price on my bestselling product. This product has 6 variants and I still have some stock with an old vendor but at the same time, I stock other variants with the new supplier. So now I have half here and half there. The new one is a 3rd party app and Shopify customer service told me that I can fulfill orders from the location ( which to be honest I'm not sure how to do yet). It still shows the old supplier as vendor and I can't change it ( it just shows me suppliers from Shopify apps - I don't want to mess it up but if I type the name from 3rd party app will it work?)
Is there any chance to handle it, I know I can't have 2 vendors but how to make them both as suppliers only ( is that possible?) Or can anyone recommend an app that could help me with that.
Thank you in advance for any advice
Solved! Go to the solution
This is an accepted solution.
You can keep the vendor the same or change to whatever you want, the way the order will determine where that product gets fulfilled is by "inventory managed by".
You can change inventory managed by for each variant too. Just go to the product page, then click on the variant, then you'll see the option to assign the location of the variant.

Thank you very much for replying and advice
So I've changed the location of 2 variants along with SKU and I placed a test order. It went through the old vendor. I asked the new one if they received anything ( as I don't know if it would show with both suppliers and then I have to choose) but they can check it on Monday.
Your solution seems very simple so I'm sure it's me doing something wrong. It's really frustrating
Just an update, it did work! 🙂
Thank you, this is the first advice that worked.
@LuizaG awesome thanks for the update, happy to hear your forum journey was a success. Good luck with the biz. Any other questions you have just pop em in the forums, me and other developers / Shopify experts are always floating around to chip in help where we can.
Hi,
Is it possible to link one product to two different suppliers depend on localization? For example I need the same product to be fulfilled by one supplier for US marker and by different supplier for second market.
Thanks
Yes. How you do that depends on what app / setup you're using. If you're using Order Automator or another app, you can reach out to app support for help.
Or if you're suppliers control fulfillment requests, contact them to ask them how to conditionally send orders based on the location.
Or if you want to do it manually, set up a different location for the different markers, and change the location in the order accordingly (if you're going this route, I would play around with the Shopify location settings, try to do priority based on location).
Hi there, I run a drop-shipping online store for 2 wheelers/ATV's, with product feed coming from 4-5 different suppliers. My website has a parts finder tool with option to choose Make, Model & Year but that is linked to only 1 supplier. Is there a way with which I can align all the suppliers parts into the parts finder tool?
