How can I migrate all the files under content > files from one Shopify store to another?
Is there any easier way to do that?

we have about 70k products, then the number of images is going to be about 4x, 5x, of the number.
Is there any way that I can make a back up of the files and store the copy into another shopify store?
i have one store with an advanced plan, and one test/dev store.

we recently had an incident that many of the media files got deleted accidentally by selecting all the files and clicking the delete button. so I want to make a backup storage for all the product image files and product list on the test site if possible.
However, downloading, and uploading all the files is going to be very time-consuming. That's why I'm asking if there's any easier way to do the job.

Easiest way is to use the Matrixify app. Pay for the main site and you can sponsor the secondary site so no need to pay twice.

Hi @ssdc and @yoonlaser

You sure can use the Matrixify app to migrate files from Shopify Admin -> Content -> Files section to your other Shopify store.
The process would be relatively simple - in the source store, in the Matrixify app, create a new export and select to export the `Files` sheet with Basic Columns. Once the export finishes, download the exported file.

Then go into your other Shopify store and import that exported file with the Matrixify app. The file will contain "Link" column with URL to the File in the source store. That URL will be used to download the file and add in the new store thus migrating over the files.

Here we also have a general tutorial on how to clone data between Shopify stores. However, it contains various details for other entities that might not be relevant to migrating over only the Files.

Also important to note here - different Shopify Plans have different File and its storage limitations. So, make sure that the store in which you are importing the data has the same plan, or confirm that it will actually be able to store the same amount of data.

As @ssdc mentioned, you do not need to buy the app in both stores, only in 1 store. We offer 1 additional free subscription per every 1 paid subscription so you can use the app in 2 stores for price of 1.

To activate your free additional store you would need to make sure that the app is installed in it and on Demo plan.
Then you can go into the Matrixify app in the store that has a paid subscription. In Matrixify Settings page you can locate "Shop Sponsoring" section where you will be able to link your free store by listing its myshopify.com domain.
Here is our tutorial that explains more about it - https://matrixify.app/tutorials/add-your-other-shopify-store-to-the-same-paid-matrixify-plan/

We're already using Matrixify app. I thought this app is mostly to migrate data only.
Let me try the way you explained here.
I really appreciate your help!!

I didn't know the target store doesn't need to pay for the app.
Thanks a lot!
