How can I redirect Google's search crawl to a different page on my site?

Today's issue with our site is the crawling situation. I've had to redirect some collection pages & product pages that appear on the Google Search Console to the main Page. It shows on Google as www.tr3performance.com/collections/racing but I had to redirect it to www.tr3performance.com/pages/racing. Is it possible to change the search crawl to /pages/racing?

Hi @Maggio 

Is this possible to change, since the collection page does not exist anymore? I know it might have to do with an update from the Google Search console crawling & indexing, but I have been having trouble with this for the past two weeks. I am still looking for an answer on this since its a major issue for my organizations site.

I recently worked on some SEO requirements of my old projects as you can see thiscraft products page but did not face any issue just followed the instructions of Shopify.

Redirects from old URLs to new ones can be indicated to Google via a 301 redirect, which it sounds like you've done. However, updating what Google has indexed requires a couple of additional steps. You'll want to use Google Search Console to request a re-crawl of your new URL. To do this, submit your updated sitemap and use the URL Inspection tool on your new /pages/racing URL. If the old URLs still appear in search results after some time, it's also wise to check for internal or external links that might still be pointing to the old URLs, as these can signal to Google that the old path is still valid.
