All things Shopify and commerce
Is there any way for me to run a report (or is there an app) to show me all manual adjustments to inventory without having to go into each product & viewing the adjustment history? I just need to see what products had a manual adjustment (not an order that was fulfilled). Thank you!
I was looking for the exact information! I have looked in all the reports available, but couldn't find anything. For accounting purposes, it's vital to have these in a report and does not seem like a difficult thing to produce considering the information is already there!
Manual inventory updates do have a an associated reason and there should be a report to summarize such updates for accounting purposes. Better Reports may enable this. They don't have a stock report as such. It would be nice to have some guidance on how to create this. I don't understand how others capture this. We want to capture as expenses for things like shrinkage, breakage, charity donations and products used for demo purposes.
Please someone make this!!
The sheer lack of support in Shopify for healthy inventory management practices is insane.
Right now, staff can go into a product, make an inventory adjustment, then walk away with however much product they can carry.
And business owners are left with no indication whatsoever unless they want to slave through the history of every single product in their store.
Ridiculous.
I'm baffled that some one hasn't at least made an app for us to track shrinkage. Having to into each product and variant is not a viable solution to the problem when you have thousands of skus.
100%. That's exactly what I'm trying to determine right now. Have been for 6 months. I've made significant investments in adding inventory, and I can't see if it's being eaten up by overhead or if I have a shrinkage issue.
This lack of information from Shopify is downright dangerous to my business. What information I have been able to scrape together is pretty well useless.
I am currently facing the same issue. Is there a way we can make this request arrive at shopify, to actually have them implement this feature?
Doubtful. Basic functionality is either referred to a third party app or a "feature request" that you might see in 3 years. Maybe.
Shopventory by Thrive has an app that may be helpful to you. I have been trialing them to solve this problem...I have over 55K active SKUs and the interface is slow with my quantities, but if you have a smaller body of inventory they may be a good fit for you! They have great reports and permissions are robust.
