How can I sell cushion covers with or without the inner as variants?

Hi, 

I'm trying to sell cushions and I want to have an option to sell the cover with or without the inner - I know I can just put this in a variant but then it messes with my inventory so that wont work - is there a way to have an add on variant? That adds another product or something?

Or do I have to link to another product? and if I do link to another product whats the best way to do this?

Hi Daisy,

If you don't want to mess up the inventory, I suggest you should sell that cover as a single product. And you can upsell  by adding that cover product to product recommendation or bundles/combo.

Eg: When buyer views cushions products or add them to cart, the cover will be displayed as "You may also like" or you can sell cushions + cover as a combo.

You can try to follow these steps:

1. Create your product with the options for the cushion cover size, color, and material as usual.
2. Under the "Variants" section, add a new variant for the add-on option. You can call this variant "Add Inner Cushion" or something similar.
3. Set the price of the add-on variant to the additional cost for the inner cushion. For example, if the cover alone is $20 and the cover with inner cushion is $30, set the add-on variant price to $10.
4. In the "SKU" field for the add-on variant, enter a unique identifier that will allow you to track the inventory separately. For example, you could add "-IC" to the end of the SKU to indicate that this variant includes an inner cushion.
5. In the "Options" section, select "Add Inner Cushion" as an option for the variant. You can also add an image for the add-on variant if you wish.
6. Save your product.

You can add both cushion inner and cushion cover as individual products. This will not affect your inventory as well. You can sell the other product as add-ons. For example, the inner cushion can be an add-on to any cushion cover. You can also sell them as a combo and have attractive offers on them if bought together.

I offer extremely customizable options, some optional Add-on fees, and occasional Discount codes and your app looks like it's going to solve some of my pain points with my current app, however I don't see any mention of whether or not it's compatible with Shopify Markets Pro, which is what I use in order to make international sales. Can you advise?
