All things Shopify and commerce
Hello, I am not able to see how I can set up 3 material options under 3 option dropdowns with different pricing. Everything seems to be grouped together? My theme is parallax. To be specific:
option: acrylic print - variable: 40x60 price $100
option: canvas print - variable: 40x60 price $200
The pricing is not able to be modified unless I set up an entire new product with dropdown. Basically i want 3 material dropdown options with variants, however, they must all have different prices. That is my problem. I already have my store set up but would like to include multiple options for same product.

Hey, @JM24!
This can be done in the admin by adding different options for material and size! There is a more detailed guide here on adding variants and options to the product. I've made a short video here on how to do this, but this view is what you should be aiming for:
To edit the options you already have created, you can click More Options > Edit Options to see this:
After this, you can edit the prices so that each variant of each option has its own price! You can do this by selecting More Options > Edit Price:
The product should then show like this with the Parallax theme:
Let me know how you get on!

Thank you! I was able to do each one, however this option would only works when creating an new product not modifying existing products correct?
Also I have trouble making my sale banner show with my menu when seeing it n mobile device. On laptop both are separate and show correctly but on mobile when I put sale banner my menu is on top of it and it looks terrible. That’s using an app. If I try to put it in through my theme it makes my menu tabs and log disappear and only shows sales header. Not sure how to fix this problem can you help me with this??
Hey again!
Sure, I can walk you through how to edit an existing product. If you have no variants at all, you can select the product from the admin and scroll to where the option for variants is in the product. Here, you can click More Options > Edit Options to add another product option. In this example, we'll say you already have a product option for the Size of the product. In order to add the Material Option, you can do so here!
Here, you can add the Material Option first, then add variants of that option afterward. Once you click More Options > Edit Options, you'll see this pop up where you can add your options and edit those text fields -
After this step, you can save your changes!
Next, you can click Add Variant here to add more Material Variants-
This is the view you will see:
This way, you can add in your various sizes and the corresponding Materials. This method will give you the option to edit the variant prices as you move along. You can repeat as many times as necessary! I've made a video of the process here if you would prefer to see some more visuals.
There is also a guide here from our help docs that goes over how to do this in detail. The method from the docs is essentially the same, exept when you get as far as creating your Material option, you can also add the Material variants in another way. You can select all the current variants, then click More Actions and scroll to Duplicate Variants...In another Material:
This will speed up the process for you, as it will copy the information of the variants but also add in the new option. Let me know which works best for you!
With regards to the sales banner, I'm afraid there is not much support we can offer here. This is because the theme you're using has been created by a third party, as has the app. I'd recommend reaching out to your theme developer if you want to edit the banner with your theme, or the developer of the app you're using if you want to change the way it displays the banner on the theme. You mentioned you were using Parallax as your theme, Parallax has been created by Out of the Sandbox and you can reach out to them here. For the app developers, if you weren't sure who to contact for support, you can go to the app in the App section of your admin and click on Get Support:
The app devs should be able to help you out here.
Let me know what you think!

Where is the more options link? I'm not seeing it. Thanks!
Hi. I had a question on how you linked the canvas/acrylic printing service to shopify? and what printing service you used?
It sounds like you're interested in the Print on Demand model, which is really well explained here.
You need to start by picking the app you want to use. There's a list of Print on Demand apps here. Some are free and some aren't. You pick the app you want to use and then select Add App:
The app descriptions will tell you what sort of services they provide - print, embroidery, engraving, or all of them even!
I'd also recommend really knowing who your audience is and what it is you can offer them with your custom printed products. There’s a great guide to creating customer personas here.
All the best, Hyde.
