Hi All,

I have read Shopify does not have a holiday/vaccation mode.

I'm away for two days, I want people to see the items on my store but not buy until I'm back to dispatch.

Is there anway I can disable the buy button?

Thanks

YFO

Hey, @Mr-Fragrance!

Thanks for your question. Although Shopify doesn't have a vacation setting, there are a few ways you can let your customers know that you will be away and not fulfilling orders. We go in detail about this in our help document:

For a short term solution, you can either password protect your store, or simply add an announcement banner to let customers know that there will be a delay in fulfilling orders while you're away.

For a longer term solution, you could switch to the Pause and Build plan. When you use the Pause and Build plan, your store continues to run at a reduced cost of $9 USD per month. You can access your Shopify admin and edit your products when you need to, but your checkout is deactivated. This means that customers can review your products, but they can't purchase them. This may not be the best solution for you in this case since you'll only be away for a couple of days, but it's a great idea to keep in mind for longer vacations!

Please let me know if you have any other questions and I'd be happy to help.

Hi, @Mr-Fragrance!

The announcement banner should appear on all pages (I just tested it out on my own store). If it doesn't, let me know what theme you're using and I'd be happy to investigate further.

Cheers!
