All things Shopify and commerce
Hi guys. Long story short, we are the actual original creator of the materials used on our website. But our page got shut down immediately when a store that literally downloaded our materials and filed us a DMCA takedown.
This store downloaded our materials, with our watermarks on it, and reported us for copyright infringement. And yes, Shopify took us down without giving us the chance to respond or dispute the claim.
With a positive mindset thinking that we would get our page active again, we responded to the claim and provided our personal details. But shopify responded to us and penalize us (the original creator) with a 14 days of waiting period before we can activate our page again.
This is not right at all and it's really unfair to the original creator where time, money, and effort were invested in creating these materials.
Has anyone experience similar issue before? Is there any way as the original creator, can prevent immediate store close down due to DMCA reports coming from material theft? What should I do to shorten the waiting period and protect my store from similar incidents in the future?
