Is there a better way to offer feedback on Shopify Capital than here? I have used a different payment processor's similar loan option in the past which colors my expectations, but I'm finding the Capital repayment setup to be frustrating...enough so that I'm concluding I'll source any future capital elsewhere.
Here's the issue. Payouts are taking a week+ to be deposited into my bank account, but payments from that day's sales are withdrawn the next day, sometimes multiple withdrawals in one day.
For example, as I write this, the latest day of sales I've received payouts for is 12/28. I've had nearly $2,000 in Capital payments withdrawn for sales dates 12/29-1/4, yet I won't receive the payouts those withdrawals are based on for 3+ more days, which is 10+ days after the date the sales were generated.
Presumably businesses seeking capital don't have excellent cash flow, so this doesn't seem like a sensible approach.
To be clear, the issue is the fact that the withdrawal is based on a specific day's sales and withdrawn the next day, while the payout that should logically fund that withdrawal is delayed a week or more. If sales aren't consistent day to day, this results in a significant squeeze between cash available and what's taken for repayments.
My specific feedback then is to suggest that payouts and withdrawals are aligned to the same day to ensure there is enough cash available without cutting into reserves. If this is an option that I'm missing somewhere, I'd love to hear about it. In the meantime, I'll just use available credit on cards for any future capital needs so I can ensure consistency in cash flow.
