How do I get store ownership back?

How do I get store ownership back?

I transferred ownership of my store to my fulfillment company in January when I first opened my store.  The fulfillment company did not work out so I terminated my contract with them and asked them to transfer ownership back.  They attempted to do it but Shopify is saying that there is an issue with the bank that is tied to my account and so they can't complete the transfer.  I have chatted with 3 reps online and each of them has promised to "escalate" my ticket but more than 30 days later the issue has not be resolved.  Neither the fulfillment company (Thrive) nor Shopify can figure out how to transfer ownership and in the meantime Thrive is charging me for fulfillment services even though they have shipped my merch to my new company. I'm at my wit's end.  I need ownership of my store!  Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi @SC79

This is Richard at PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app.

You can try the following steps I have provided to help you solve the problem you are facing:

  • You've encountered difficulties transferring ownership of your Shopify store from your fulfillment company (Thrive) back to you.
  • Shopify is indicating a bank-related issue is preventing the transfer.
  • Thrive is still charging you for fulfillment services despite shipping your merch to your new company.

Potential Solutions:

  1. Direct Communication with Shopify:

    • Escalate: Continue escalating the issue with Shopify. Request to speak with a supervisor or manager.
    • Provide Documentation: Gather any relevant documents, such as bank statements, contracts, and communication history, to support your case.
    • Explore Alternative Solutions: If the transfer is proving difficult, ask Shopify if there are alternative solutions, such as transferring ownership to a different account or temporarily suspending the store until the issue is resolved.
  2. Involve Your Bank:

    • Contact your bank to verify if there are any issues with your account that could be affecting the transfer.
    • Provide your bank with any relevant information from Shopify or Thrive.
  3. Consult with a Legal Professional:

    • If you're unable to resolve the issue through direct communication or with your bank, consider consulting with a lawyer specializing in e-commerce or contract law. They can provide legal advice and potentially negotiate a resolution.

Hoping my solution helps you solve your problem.
