What a great way to offer new customers a discount when making their first purchase on your store. This can definitely increase store traffic and increase customer loyalty and acquisition.

I've found a great app called Automatic Discounts & Gifts  that may suit your business needs. This app allows you to create specific rules based on a number of factors like customer tags, cart, quantity etc. You can also combine rules and this discount is applied automatically for your customers at checkout. Within the apps promotion rules there's a list of when to define a discount based on the criteria you've set. 

Another option as a workaround would be to utilize the automatic discount feature within your Discounts section of the admin. Although this can't be limited to customers first orders, you can still create automatic discounts to be applied at checkout. Now you can use an app like Savify https://apps.shopify.com/savify to give every first-time customer an automatic 10 % off very easily. Follow these steps below:

1. Open Savify and click "Create discount."
2. Click "Add a condition," choose Customer order count, set it to Less than → 1.
3. Switch "Discount method" to Automatic discount so the offer triggers without a coupon code.
4. Set "Discount value" → Percentage → 10.
5. Save the discount.

Now every shopper placing their very first order on your store will automatically receive 10 % off at checkout—returning customers won't see the offer, and you don't have to manage any codes.

Yes, this is possible. While there are more automated methods to do this via apps, you can do this natively by creating a "Amount off order" discount, and selecting the newsletter subscriber option in the "Customer eligibility" field. This will ensure that your subscribers will be eligible. You will also want to limit the order to one per customer. You can learn more here.

Hi @HALEY725 , Shopify doesn’t currently support offering a first-order-only discount out of the box. You can limit discount codes to one use per customer, but Shopify has no native way to restrict a discount specifically to a customer's first order.

That said, this is something you can do with Klip Coupons: Sales and Discounts.

• Show a clippable 10% discount directly on the product page
• Set it to apply only for logged-in customers who haven’t placed an order yet
• Limit it to one-time use per customer
• Automatically hide the coupon after the first order is completed
