How do I set a minimum order amount and understand taxes for my small business?

Hi I'm a tiny business and want to make a minimum order of 50€ on my store (plus shipping, am not offering free shipping) - am I obliged to have an app for that? If yes, which one would you recommend. I would prefer to find away around it 😞

Also I'm in France selling jams and syrups and I don't understand the taxes - I just see this beige bar and have no idea what to do with it. I'm a micro entrepreneur just started so I don't charge VAT - but I don't understand the taxes. Sorry to ask for help, I'm getting so overwhelmed by how much work there is to create my store and it's taking me months. I'd be grateful for any help.

Yes, you can set a minimum order amount by using the Cart Lock https://apps.shopify.com/cart-lock app easily. Here is how you can do it:.

1. Open the app and click on the "Add a new rule" button.
2. Click "Add a new condition" and select the "Cart subtotal" then put 50 in the "Block if less than" field.
3. In the "Error message" field, add an appropriate message which will be displayed in the checkout page.
4. Save the rule.

Now your customers cannot buy if the cart subtotal is less than 50€.
