How do you sync inventory between Square POS and an online store?

Hi everyone,

I would like to know if anyone has an online store with Shopify and use Square POS for in-person stores, like me?

If yes how do you sync the stock inventory between these two? I find it so time-consuming to update stock on a daily basic for both of them. Please advise any good app to auto sync stock from Square to Shopify that does not cost a leg and an arm.

Or should I just stop using Square POS and use Shopify POS instead? Will it be a good option too? I find it very easy to use Square POS.

That is definitely a tricky situation, but you do have a few options. Of course, the easiest option would be to migrate your POS from Square to Shopify. With the Shopify POS there would be no additional effort for you at the end of the day as your online storefront would be directly synced to your POS system. 

The next option is to use an app such as Square Sync. This app keeps your inventory in sync between your Square POS and your Shopify account. However, it is $29 a month. 

The final option would be to use the Shopify POS app with the Square reader, and payment gateway. This can be time consuming when running your in-store checkout, and can also be a confusing process. However, it allows you to create the order in the Shopify POS app, while accepting payment via your Square reader. Essentialyl you would need to navigate between the two apps during each sale. Our Help Center has some more information on accepting payments on Shopify POS with an external card reader.

I am in the same situation, and the Square Sync app no longer works. Is there a solution if that is no longer an option?
