How does Auto DS determine the 'buy price' in dropshipping?

Hi! How does Auto DS calculate "buy price"? We're new to dropshipping, and have connected AUTO DS to our store (still building). However we are struggling on how to understand how they work around the "buy price", since we source the product at a price and that's not what the auto ds app shows. The price that gets transfered doesn't even make sense sometimes and they would add anywhere from $2-$20 in addition to our cost. Is AUTO DS the best option to install as dropshipping app in our store? Any help would be appreciated.
