Hi @petitepetite 👋 unless a theme has a specific feature it then an advanced theme customization is required to change the sort-order of options, or to hide/show only certain options/swatches, etc in collection product-grids with custom business logic.

Or to set up duplicate products with only the specific options for a specific collection then make any links point to the real primary product, similar to a product-siblings or combined-listings system.

If you need this advanced theme customization for your business then contact me by my email for services.

@Turner-brown1 spaming the output of chatgpt or some other LLM is a good way to get banned.

At least proof read and verify the information it's giving you so your no recommended processes that DO NOT EXIST.

chat generators LIE they are not a source of truth to mindlessly copy and paste.

Hi there, @petitepetite! Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community Forums with your question around assigning specific variants of a product to specific collections. My name is Imogen. It's good to meet you!

At this time, it's not natively possible within Shopify to assign a specific product variant to a specific collection. Collections are created at the 'product-level' meaning that the products and all of it's variants are placed into a collection when assigned. We've received a good amount of feedback around a desire to change this functionality to allow for the assigning of specific variants, and I'm happy to add your thread here as part of that feedback for our Developers consideration in future updates!

Though it's not natively supported, you could create a product is just the blue variant, and another that is just the pink variant, and put these into these respective collections. Additionally, you could look into using custom coding to adjust the code on the collection pages to show your desired variant (so you could have the product in both collections, but have the pink variant appear as the product image for 'Girls', and the blue image for 'Boys', for example). Shopify Support Staff like myself are not trained on coding, so I won't be able to advise on how to make this change, but some of our more code-educated communities members may be able to advise on what specific coding you can look into using to achieve this functionality.
